How to Store Makeup

Hii dArlingss!

So, i have been looking for ways to store make up and i have watched countless videos on people showcasing how they store and oragnize their make up, but there i never found anything really ideal. I like to display my make up, because i think they are beautiful. In fact, i would love to have a room looks like cosmetic store. I want all my lipsticks lined up, brushes standing up, and everything just all organized and cute. In order words, i would like to have my room look like Mac and Sephora, with makeup in every possible corner. This must not be my dream alone. hahah.

So anywas, for the pass few months, i have been storing my make up in a little compartment. I'm not sure what to call it. But i got it a while back, at Giant Tigers, and it's basically just to store any little things you have. I use to use it for loose paper, but i decided to shove all my make up in there. My pallettes fit perfectly in the bottom compartment, and the top is all the other stuff.

Until Tuesday Night , when i was at Winners, after a lovely dinner with my bf's family at Mandrain, we decided to go to Winners, to walk off the fat. hahaha. Yes. And i just had to go to the body, hair, and misc beauty section, and i found these babiess

Are you ready for the best part?? the One of the right is 3.99 and the one of the left is 4.99! :D YUP. i said it! hahaha

It was so worth it going to Winners. So i spent an hour looking thru what they had. They had other ones, that were for cotton balls and what not, but i only picked up two of the first one and one of the last one. So i'm hoping to go back to get some more now. Cos i'm OBSESSED! hahaha..

i was so excited to go home to put all the make up in. I was imagining how pretty it would look the whole time int he stoer when i saw these babies. hahaha. ahhhh. :)

So here is a picture, of the lipsticks. They fit perfectly in there. I do have a problem with putting lipglosses in though, because they are taller, and these...organizers are not tall enough. So i'll be on the hunt for one for my lipglosses.

So here is how they look:

I loveee iT!

The 4 Eyeshadow Quad fit perfectly in there as well. Pretty good stuff.

Hope you enjoyed. Now go organize your make up. TEEHEE. hahaha

A Tip on Nail Polish

A TIP

So when i went to get my black nail polish ( the thin bottle : it's a fine tip by the way ) it was thickening up and it seems like it's gonna dry up? You know that happens when your nail polish has been sitting around and somehow air has gotten it's way into the bottle.

What can you do to fix it?

What you need is this:

Well, i've learned this trick a while ago, but i really dont remember where i've learned it from. Basically when your nail polish starts to thicken up, and it becomes difficult to use, what you do is just drop a few droplets of nail polish remover into the bottle, shake it up and your nail polish should come out much thiner, and nicer. The amount of nail polish remover, depends on how thin you want your nail polish. I usually apply a few drops, see how it is, and then put a few more drops, if you feel. Don't over do it, you might just ruin your nail polish. I don't think it would work if your nail polish has dried up, but definately when it has thicken up, you should try it out. I don't like it when my nail polish is thick, because it feels heavy, and it applies on as a thick layer, (plus it takes forever to dry).

Advice on Mac Product

A few days ago i went to Mac to check out the new collection. The christmas collection is which is called the
MAC Magic, Mirth, and Mischief Collection: Lip/Eye Bags for Holiday 2009
which is already out on display since this tuesday ( Oct.6/09 ) but it is preorder only. If you really want something from the collection i highly suggest you preorder right now, all they need to know is your credit card information and signing some paper, which basically claims that you will commite to the buying.

They have three mini travel size brush sets, and two sets of lipglass/lipstick/lipliner set, and a 2 other set eye products. You can check out photos of the collection on (temptalia.com) bcos it would be too much for me to link all the photos and plus, im sure it's everywhere on the internet. When you preorder you are GUARENTEED the product, so no worries about not getting your hands on it.

Anywas, so basically just wanted to let you guys know, so you dont have to wait for the actually release and find out that it's all gone, cos i know that feeling and the BRUSH sets are the best thing every <3 hahaha. Btw, it the first time they are doing the preorder thing.

So the next thing i wanted to let you guys know is about my paint pot - artifact. The story is like this, i bought it a while back ago, probably half a year ago but i haven't been using it forever, and recently i decided that i wanted to use it so i went to open it and to my worst nightmare it dried up! DRIED UP, and it was CLOSED. I don't know about beeing closed/sealed TIGHTLY< but it shouldn't have dried up. So i was boo hoo for a while, cos there goes my paint pot that i barely used. So bf suggested that we bring it back and maybe they will give us a new one. Previously, i have done this before with a few of my old products. My lipglass - Love Nectar. It exploded and i brought it in and let them know about it, and they told me to just bring it in and they'll give my a new one. They write it down as an exchange. So i just wanted to let you guys know that if your Mac products are messed up, regardless of how long you have had it, you should try bring it in and teling them about it. Complain in a nice way, but don't be a diva and brat, obviously pick your fav mac sales person, or someone atleast nice, and the chances are they will give you a new one, bcos MAC makes too much money to care. hahahah.

Actually an interesting story that i was told is that, when a customer returns a product they are not allowed to resell it, so regardless of if you used it or not, it would be disposed. :/ So all they are concerned about is your satisfaction and i love that about MAC. Btw, you should also go to the Mac Pro store for these things, I don't reccomend the counters at the Bay, if you can always try the stores.

So yeah that's my story. I just went in and started by asking them if there was a way to save my poor dried up paint pot and then she explained that it may be a chance that it could still work, so then i showed her and she WAS EVEN SAD about it. Only make up lovers would understand :) I asked her if all the paint pots happen like that, and i told her that mine was sealed, and i don't know why it happened. WHICH is true. so now the moral of the story, BE CAREFUL with ur PAINTPOT. Close it tightly.

im' just happy i got a new artifact, it's a BEAUTIFUL plum colour <3

A Tip on Curling Lashes

Since we are on the lashes topic. I just thought i'd share a tip that i've picked up a while back from a forum when it comes to curling your lashes. Alot of the time, i see girls curling their lashes and their lashes look bent and that just doesn't look pretty. You want your lashes to look effortless curled. So here's my tip.

An easy way to fix this is, curl your lashes the way you do, but curl it outwards. What i mean is. Start curling your lashes right near the root (ofcourse where you are most comfortable with) then move the curler outwards by a few milimeters and curl it again. This way you have a gradual curl, not just bent looking lashes. I do about three curls on each lash. Do as many as you need.

P.S. i have revised the post before this, so check it out :)

Emphasize your eyes

In my last haul, i have mentioned a 50% discount at Rexall on all mascara. I have not tried all of them, but i have been using NYX doll eye, and so far I am quite happy with it. I have to thank my friend, Cindy for recommending this product to me. This mascara is for volume, and to an extent it does do what it claims. There are several things I love about this about mascara. First of all, it holds my curls all day! My last mascara from Maybelline, did not do this. I’ve worn it from 6-am to 4pm, and the curls were still there. Maybe not as fabulous as it was at the start, but my lashes were definitely still curled.

here are some pictures after 10 hours at school. I have a bit of eyeshadow on.

Unlike the “Define a lash” this mascara does not smudge throughout the day. I hated it when I’d have smudged mascara at the bottom of my eyes, because I already have bags, and I don’t need it to be emphasized. Also, when you wash your face, it does not smudge as much as the Maybelline one. The Maybelline mascara “Define a lash” smudged dramatically when I washed my face, It was difficult to remove and it definitely gave me panda eyes. But with the “Doll Eyes”, there is minimum smudge, and removal of the mascara on my face is quick and easy with one swipe. “Define a Lash” caused me to tug on my eyes and this is a big NO! you don’t want premature wrinkling.

Another point that I love about this mascara is that it’s great for lengthening. Originally, Cindy said this mascara is great for under the eyes, and I can’t agree more. I don’t know too many Asians with a lot of bottom lashes, but this mascara CREATES, DARKEN and EMPHASIZE your bottom lashes. You might think you don’t have any, but this mascara is like magic, it will run thru hair that you thought didn’t exist there. I love it because if you into Japanese models with their long curled lashes and much like anime eyes, this is for you. People might even think you have fake lashes.

The only problem I have with this mascara is that it doesn’t fully separate my lashes that way that I like. I mean it does a good job, just not great. It does a good job separating short hair, like your bottom lashes, but it’s not great for the top lashes. I feel like when I apply the mascara my lashes look “messy” It doesn’t look uniform. And this makes my lashes appear flimsy. BUT this may be due to my natural lashes. Sometimes it appears messy and sometimes it doesn't. It also clumps a little bit, but if you try to brush it slowly you can minimize this problem.

This is a picture of my lashes without using any products.

I don't have long lashes, and my lashes are quite thin, and this mascara has created a difference. My lashes are longer, darker, and thicker.

Overall, it’s a good mascara if you don’t want to pay an arm or a leg for a good mascara. It may not be the best, but its definitely worth checking out. I will still be on a search for a good mascara, but this is definitely one that I recommend, if you have thick lashes and just need some lengthening. You can also try this mascara if you pair it up with a good thickening mascara, the results may be phenomenal. Though I have yet to try this. Otherwise, you can always use this mascara just for the bottom lashes. BTW. i believe it cost 5-6 bucks. But i got it during the sale so it was only like 2-3 bucks. :/

After using it for the first time I can definitely see the difference in my eyes. Mascara is a great tool for brightening and opening the eyes, and this will give the appearance of bigger eyes. With a great mascara, the results could be cRRAZYYY. Hahaha. I even got a compliment today from a random guy saying that I have pretty eyes. Now if you get a compliment like that, you know what to thank, because apparently half the guys out there don’t know what’s on a girls face, and what’s the difference. All they can tell is “something looks different”. hahaha

Here are pictures of the my lashes after i have just applied the mascara.

NOTE* i have revised the pictures, because i felt like the first post i did did not fully justify the lashes. So i redid it without using liquid eyelinear. Instead, i did not apply eyelinear at all. So that you can clearly see the length of the lashes. There may be some residue remaining from last night though.
Also, don't mind the pink eye, i was rubbing it, because it was bothering me

The eyelash curler, is a no brand i believe. I got it at shoppers.
